How it all Started

JRT Ecommerce was formed in March 2010 as an independent, technical website development and digital marketing consultancy business specialising in Magento Commerce.

Always working as a close team, Jason Russell and Istvan Orban head up the business. With 27 years of collective online experience between them working in, and with, both SME’s and multinational corporations, they have a wealth of ‘hands-on’ knowledge and insight into all things digital. Both have not only worked consultancy side, but have run and developed multi-channel businesses and e-commerce websites, so know exactly first-hand what works and what doesn’t.

The core to JRT and the way we operate is our belief in developing practical, workable and profitable solutions which deliver results.

Jason Russell (Director)

Jason works on the business development and marketing areas of the business. He has 15 years’ experience working in the online marketing and e-commerce industry and an impressive track record in growing online sales, customer acquisition and retention.

Some of his key roles over the years include: Head of Online Marketing at Lookfantastic.com, where he achieved multi million pound growth in annual revenues and signifcant customer acquistion for this market leading online Hair & Beauty company; and General Manager for the beauty website beautique.com, the online retailer behind the prestigious and luxury salon group Urban Retreat, where he increased sales year on year and doubled the portfolio of brands.

A true online professional and great team player, Jason’s motivational leadership style brings endless energy and enthusiasm to any project.

Istvan Orban (Technical Director)

Istvan is the technical brains behind JRT and is a highly experienced Web Architect and Technical Project Manager with an exceptional knowledge of both front-end and back-end technologies.

He has extensive development and programming experience having worked as the Lead Developer for the Austrian Auto Motor Touring Club as well as Senior Technical Integration Consultant at Sapient Nitro, where he successfully led a re-design project on JPMorgan’s Retail Structured Products website.

Dedicated and passionate, with a flair for empowering the people he works with, Istvan’s practical insight will ensure you have the perfect Solution for your business needs.

Jane Brown (Marketing & Social Media)

Jane joined JRT in early 2011 and has a fantastic array of skills and experience. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing with a CIM Professional Marketing Diploma. Jane is also an active member of the Kent branch of the CIM and co-run the planning, management and execution of events for approximately 1,000 professional marketers in Kent.

Her style is very much hands-on with an objective and results driven approach. She is key in helping our clients gain an  insight to better align their marketing and social media objectives with their operational activities and ‘bridge the gap’ between the two.

Previoulsy, Jane worked for five years in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, specialising in a broad base of health and beauty areas including: cosmetic skincare, medical device CE marked skincare, prescription dermatology, celebrity endorsed beauty brands, salon professional products, gastroenterology and nutricosmetics. During this time she also developed several long-standing relationships with major global companies, including Aerosol Scandinavia and KMI Brands.

Jane is a valuable member of the team and is essential in ensuring our clients get the best possible service.

Michele Kelly (Branding Director)

Michele has over 20 years experience in sales, education, marketing and new product development, within the beauty industry, which enables JRT to have a unique 360 view of the marketing and branding process.

She has previously worked on start up and corporate giant brands such as Aveda, Boots, Harrods, IPulse, LA Science, “mister mascara”, Molton Brown, Pout, The Body Shop and Urban Retreat.

Michele is a member of the Institute of Marketing and associate members of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists.    With her keen eye for detail and very proactive nature, Michele can anticipate what impact a top level decision will have all the way to the shop floor, potentially avoiding any costly mistakes.
